On Saturday 10th December 2016, award-winning Magician, Girio, took to the floor in sparkling silver shoes to perform stunning and hilarious close-up magic at the Darji Mitra Mandal’s Christmas Party.
It was a magical day with real reindeers also attending the event, giving members of the public the opportunity to see in-person Santa’s magical helpers.
The day comprised of members of the public being able to see the reindeers and even an owl, with Members of the Darji Mitra Mandal entertained by magic from Girio, playing games, making arts and crafts and – of course – getting presents delivered by Father Christmas himself.
Pravin Jivan, President of the Darji Mitra Mandal, commented “At Girio and Hemmel’s magic show, I had a dream to bring real reindeers to our Children’s Christmas Party.
“People thought I was mad. Maybe I was, as with only a few weeks to go until the event, could it even be possible?”
He added: “Through generous donations, we managed to raise £1,900 to give children a once in a lifetime opportunity – to see real reindeers.
“With the help of committee members and volunteers, the event was a great success and we are already thinking of how we can top this event for 2017.”
