A much-loved Leeds restaurant has been named the Best Restaurant in the North East of England at the 11th annual British Curry Awards earlier this week.
Aagrah Leeds City, based in the centre of Leeds, won the 2015 title on 30th November during the renowned ‘Oscars of the curry industry’, this year held in London.
A jubilant Naeem Aslam, Director and General Manager of Leeds City Aagrah, collected the coveted award.
Speaking of the restaurant’s success, he said: “We are thrilled to win this top industry award. Over the years we have brought our innovative cuisine to the North’s restaurant scene, working hard to deliver the highest standards.

Aagrah was setup more than 37 years ago by Mohammed Sabir MBE and his two brothers in a small restaurant in Westgate, Shipley.
Situated in the heart of Leeds in the BBC building, Aagrah Leeds City is a fine dining restaurant with the ability to cater for 165 diners.
The establishment is without doubt one of Yorkshire’s most acclaimed restaurant groups, offering informal yet luxury dining, serving a modern menu made up of classic award winning dishes.
