Inspired by late Jo Cox MP, The Great Get Together encourages neighbours to share

Inspired by Jo Cox, The Great Get Together takes place across the nation in June to celebrate all we share within our communities.

On Saturday 17 June, Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, near Doncaster invites visitors to bring a picnic to share with family and friends, and enjoy all this beautiful house and gardens has to offer – with entry free to everyone on the day.

There are a host of events taking place throughout the weekend in Jo’s former constituency of Batley & Spen as well as across the country, and the team at Brodsworth Hall and Gardens are honoured be part of The Great Get Together.

The aim of The Great Get Together is to bring communities together, encourage neighbours to share food, celebrate all that everyone holds in common and, importantly too, have some fun.

Spearheaded by Jo’s family and friends, this unique series of events is all about sharing and the team at English Heritage look forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy outdoor family activities, live music and an opportunity to enjoy relaxed house and garden tours.

While snacks can be purchased on site, visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic, and unwind during a full day of fresh air and fun.

Brendan Cox said: “I’m delighted and honoured that English Heritage is joining in The Great Get Together.

“Brodsworth Hall and Gardens is a perfect setting for a picnic with friends and family, and I hope that plenty of people take advantage of the free entry on the day!

“I’ve no doubt it will be a fantastic event and I’ll have my fingers crossed for good weather.”

The Great Get Together at Brodsworth Hall and Gardens will be held from 10am to 6pm on Saturday 17th June.
