Two of Yorkshire’s leading companies, the First Direct Arena and Aagrah Restaurant Group are proud to announce an exclusive working partnership, leveraging their respective strengths in the hospitality and entertainment sector.

The two will come together for the first time for the 34th annual Aagrah Yorkshire Powerhouse Business Dinner, set to take place this year on 10th October2016 at the renowned Leeds arena.

The strong and strategic fit will see the companies deliver large scale premier business and social events, with Aagrah’s award winning Kashmiri and international cuisine served up at the world class venue.

The Aagrah Dinner is widely acknowledged as the platform to network, connect and engage. The huge success of last year’s dinner, attended by close to 800 business guests was covered by TV and press media alike.

Every year the prestigious black tie dinner focuses on a current business topic to showcase the region and its success in a bid to encourage investment to fuel further growth and development, to be a major player on the world’s business stage.

The dinner is in memory of the late Sajid Sabir, son of Aagrah Chairman, Mohammed Sabir.

The evening will combine five key Yorkshire hospitality Awards, networking opportunities, speakers, a sumptuous five-course banquet dinner and great entertainment. The event will also be filmed and broadcast on a major Sky channel as a show.

Yorkshire’s economy mirrors its size and diversity: with finance, legal, manufacturing, medical, digital, retail, food, agriculture and nuclear all strong sectors contributing to a healthy economy.

On top of this, tourism in Yorkshire is worth over £7 billion which is more than the total tourism expenditure of many other countries such as Ireland or Denmark.

Yorkshire & Humber have the largest concentration of food and drink businesses in the UK, contributing £1.7 billion to the regional economy.

All of this and more will be recognised at the awards dinners later this year.

As well as commending the enterprising minds amongst us, the Annual Dinner also supports charities that benefit the region. This year’s two beneficiary charities are Macmillan and Weston Park Cancer Charity, Sheffield.
