At a special virtual press conference, music maestro Sonu Nigam spoke passionately about his latest song “Bijuria” from the upcoming romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

Composed by Tanisk Baghchi, with lyrics by Sonu Nigam and Tanisk Baghchi, Bijuria captures the mischievous, playful energy of young love – a musical moment that perfectly reflects the film’s vibrant tone. Sonu Nigam, whose voice has defined generations of Bollywood music, described the track as a “celebration of rhythm, romance, and a touch of old-school charm.

Talking about it’s legacy, he said, “This song has been popular since 1999. And I’ve sung it in almost all my shows. It is one of the most demanded, requested song ever in my entire career.

The track’s dynamic soundscape blends folk influences with contemporary beats, underscoring Nigam’s versatility and longevity in an ever-evolving industry. He also reflected on how the song came together.

“Apparently, simultaneously, Varun Dhawan was also contemplating using Bijuria for his movie, Sunny Sanskari, because when this song came, he was 13 years old, a kid in a school and he told me later on that he used to dance between each period in front of his friends. So he was in love with the song, and he always had a lot of love for me. So, everything happened organically and incidentally, we thought of the same song at the same time, and Varun was also contemplating at the same time. And as a result, this song was included in Sunny Sanskari.

With its infectious melody and Sonu Nigam’s signature magic, Bijuria promises to be one of the season’s most talked-about tracks.
