Al Halal Supermarket, Worldwide Foods, a leading ethnic supermarket chain in the UK, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Iceland’s The Food Warehouse brand to bring a wider selection of ethnic foods to stores all over the UK.

This will mean customers can now find Worldwide Foods concession stores within selected The Food Warehouse stores, with the launch of the first store taking place in Manningham, Bradford on Tuesday 14th February.

Zahid Iqbal, Director of Worldwide Foods, said:“Iceland and the Food Warehouse are already national favourites for frozen food and great value.

“So, adding our Worldwide Foods offering of unique foods from around the world will bring even more benefits to shoppers.”

Worldwide Foods opened its first store in Rochdale in 1985 by Pervez Alam, who is the current Chairman of the group.

The company expanded by opening sites in various locations in the North West. The company also expanded in to Yorkshire and the Midlands under the name Al Halal Supermarket, with its flagship store opening in 2021 on Leeds Road, Bradford.

The group also operates from its e-commerce website, called www.DesiMe.co.uk, from which the company can offer next day delivery to anywhere in the UK.

Pervez Alam commented: “The recipe of Worldwide Foods success is very simple. We strive to make the best quality halal foods from around the world accessible to our customers, at the best possible price.

“Our aim is to provide a seamless shopping experience for customers wishing to stock up on halal groceries in the same way as the mainstream supermarkets do.

“Partnering with Iceland makes this objective easier as customers can now shop for both their national favourites and ethnic products under one roof in the Food Warehouse.

“February 14th 2023 marks a milestone for the group and we look forward to welcoming the Food Warehouse customers to experience our variety of halal products.”
