FILMING: Chris Evans reveals a couple of details for the new Top Gear

Filming has begun for the next Top Gear and will return to British TV screens on Sunday 8th May 2016, presenter Chris Evans has revealed.

“We’re going to America to make our first inter-continental in January,” he added. But the 49-year-old did not disclose any information about co-presenters.

There will be 16 episodes when the new incarnation of Top Gear is broadcast on BBC Two next year.

Meanwhile former presenters Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May took to the stage at London’s O2 last month.

The much-loved petrol heads thrilled their fans with motoring mayhem and mischief during ‘Clarkson, Hammond and May Live’.

After 19 countries, 32 cities and 2.2 million visitors, their world tour comes to an end with their third night in the capital.

The London shows boasts highlights including James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 and a Porsche 918.

Clarkson was sacked from Top Gear in March following a “fracas” with the show’s producer.
Since the incident, the former Top Gear trio have gone on to sign a deal for a new Amazon Prime motor show with a reported budget of £160 million.
