Zainab Jagot Ahmed, who recently moved to Leicester after 10 years in London, spotted a gap in the market for Indian-inspired dishes for children to encourage families to eat together, from the same recipe, and to introduce babies - from weaning - to aromatic spices and flavours.

Her previous two cookbooks ‘Indian SuperMeals: Baby & Toddler Cookbook’ and ‘Yummy Indian SuperMeals for Kids: Mini-Taster Edition!’ (both ebooks), have been a huge success. Following the feedback she received, Zainab was inspired to create a gorgeous new hardback recipe book titled ‘Easy Indian SuperMeals’.

Zainab’s ‘Easy Indian SuperMeals’, is packed with new ideas, recipes and information to help inspire parents seeking new, exciting and tasty meals for their children.

More than just a cookbook, Zainab adds her personal experiences as a first-time Mum in a friendly and light-hearted manner.

The book is packed with advice on how to tackle weaning, nutritional information and extensively researched SuperFood and SuperSpice details relevant to the whole family.

This beautiful hardback book, packed with friendly parenting advice as well as recipes, has captured the hearts and minds of parents, grandparents, friends and families across the country, and continues to go from strengh to strength, since publication in September 2014.

Indian Vegetable Paella 2_2As a foodie first - with no other Indian-themed baby food cookbooks on the market, which focus on cooking with aromatic spices – ‘Easy Indian SuperMeals’ has also been shortlisted for a Prima Baby Award 2015 in the best family cookery book category.

“Asian flavours and spices are a great substitute for salt and sugar, adding taste to meals thus encouraging a well-balanced diet”, says Zainab.

"I'm thrilled that other people, particularly new parents, recognise the potential of introducing young tastebuds to aromatic spices and flavours”, she adds.

“It's been a fabulous journey and the recognition I'm getting from awards and book sales makes it all worthwhile."
