
London’s celebrated hip-hop theatre festival, Breakin’ Convention, returns to Sadler’s Wells this May 2026, bringing together an electrifying mix of global talent, boundary-pushing performances, and the very best of street dance culture.
Kicking off the festivities on Friday 1st May is Friction, the official opening night, beginning at 8pm. Designed as a high-energy launchpad for the weekend, Friction sets the tone with bold, experimental works that spotlight innovation within the hip-hop dance scene. Audiences can expect an immersive evening that challenges conventions while celebrating the raw creativity of emerging and established artists alike.
The main festival programme takes centre stage across Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May, with performances in the Sadler’s Wells Theatre starting from 6pm each evening. Ahead of the main shows, audiences are invited to experience a pre-show performance in the Lilian Baylis Studio from 4.30pm, offering an intimate glimpse into fresh talent and new choreographic voices.
