Queen Libas, a Bradford-born fashion brand inspired by heritage, resilience and compassion, has been named best ‘Start-Up of the Year 2025’ at the prestigious Business Power Awards, hosted by the Asian Express.
What began as a tribute to one remarkable woman has grown into a flourishing enterprise that fuses cultural pride, customer trust and philanthropy with entrepreneurial excellence.
The story of Queen Libas is rooted in family legacy. Its inspiration came from a proud grandmother, Hazran Bibi who arrived in the UK in the 1960s. She was a mother of six who worked tirelessly to support her family, sewing garments at home to make ends meet.

Her creativity and determination became the foundation for Queen Libas.
When she passed away during the Covid pandemic, grandson Farhan Butt founded the brand in her memory, turning grief into a mission to empower others and celebrate the strength of women who built their lives from humble beginnings.
Every Queen Libas design carries that legacy – an ode to the women who paved the way. Blending traditional South Asian aesthetics with modern elegance, the label has captured the imagination of customers far beyond Bradford.
2024 marked a breakthrough year for the business, as it expanded online and strengthened its loyal following through quality, reliability and personal service.
Customer reviews on Google tell a consistent story: “Queen Libas is a brand you can trust,” wrote one, while another praised its “attention to detail” and “outstanding customer care.”
The company has become a trusted companion for families celebrating weddings, Eid and other cherished milestones.
Yet the heart of Queen Libas extends beyond fashion.
Philanthropy lies at the centre of its ethos, with the brand supporting local and international charities including Islamic Relief, KORT (Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust), the Shahid Afridi Foundation and the local Musta Mount Mosque.
In a touching tribute to its late matriarch, Queen Libas has pledged to fund 12 Hifz sponsorships through the Ummah Welfare Trust as sadaqah jariyah – four of which have already been completed.
Farhan describes these efforts as a way of ensuring her grandmother’s legacy continues to uplift others: “Success isn’t just about profit – it’s about purpose,” says Farhan.

That purpose was recognised at the Business Power Awards 2025, where Queen Libas was celebrated for its rapid growth, community impact and authentic storytelling.
Accepting the award, Farhan adds: “This award is not just for us. It belongs to our customers, our community, and to the memory of my grandmother, whose strength and sacrifice inspire everything we do. Our greatest reward will always be the trust of our customers and the chance to give back.”
As the brand looks to the future, Queen Libas is preparing for international collaborations, expanding its digital fashion ventures and deepening its charitable commitments.
From its origins at a sewing machine in a Bradford home to national recognition on a glittering awards night, Queen Libas stands as a testament to how legacy, love and determination can shape not only a business, but a movement.
