Dr. Nirmal Singh MBE and his wife, Mrs. Harmesh Kaur Sekhon, say they are honoured to receive the ‘Power Couple of the Year’ accolade at the Business Power Awards 2025, held at the Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford on 12th October 2025.
The awards, powered by Asian Express Newspaper, celebrated 25 years of publishing and showcased the achievements of leading entrepreneurs and community figures across the region.
Dr. Singh, who started his business journey in 1972 with the opening of Nirmal Razai Mart, has become a respected figure in both business and community service.
Together with his wife, the couple has built a legacy of successful enterprises while supporting charitable initiatives and community projects across Bradford.
On receiving the award, Dr. Singh said: “It’s a true honour to receive this recognition. We are grateful to everyone who has supported us over the years our family, team, and the community. This award reflects our shared journey and dedication.”
Dr. Singh and Mrs. Sekhon also extended thanks to the event organisers, Asian Express newspaper’s CEO Nadim Hanif, and Chairperson of the Business Power Awards Andleeb Hanif, for hosting a memorable evening that highlighted entrepreneurial excellence and community spirit.
