Delivering the Special-K standard in menswear

A Bradford designer, who carefully crafts bespoke suits for men, has delivered a ‘knockout’ suit for a rather special client this month as British champ, Kell Brook, got suited and booted by Jook.

Ahead of his World title fight this weekend against Gennady Golovkin (GGG), the Sheffield star called upon the services of the menswear specialists, to create a unique outfit.

Designed by chief designer and director at Jook, Gulshazad Ahmed, the ‘one-off’ suit was shown off to the world on Thursday 8th September at the highly publicised news conference, prior to fight night on Saturday.

“We went for a fabric which is sourced locally from Huddersfield and that was one of our big selling points to Kell when we pitched this design to him. We are Yorkshire based and so is he, so we thought it would be a good idea to keep with that theme.”

He continued: “With the design, we wanted to take a classic look but make it more modern.

“We went for French blue with a glen-check black print on it. It’s a relaxed colour and allows Kell to appear exactly how he feels – relaxed.

“The tailored black trousers help to break off the pattern and just round off the entire look.

“He absolutely loved it from the first consultation and was so chuffed with it when we took the final piece to his house last weekend.”

Jook have been operating out of their base on Lumb Lane, Bradford, for around six months yet have already built up an impressive client base and reputation.

From individual customers to business contracts, people across the North of England are being kitted out in the latest Jook creations.

Their unique range, from full suits to Arab thobes and Sub-Indian Shalwar Kameez, allow customers to stand out from the crowd, with every order hand-stitched to perfection by their own expert tailors.

Personalisation and customer creativity is promoted by the Jook team, who give clients the chance to put their mark on the creation – whether it is just the colour of a buttonhole, a colour contrast or the full colour scheme.

Materials are locally sourced from the heart of Yorkshire and Gulshazad says it is an important part of the business practice, to re-educate the community about Yorkshire’s historic wool trade.

“We established this business after noticing a gap in the market for bespoke options for men,” he added. “Since opening, the response has been fantastic.

“We can create any look you desire and have had orders for all occasions. We are currently working towards launching a bespoke footwear service also to round off the full bespoke package.”
