Cona continues to serve up the highest grade menu

For the past two years, one restaurant in Bradford has raised the bar higher than any other in the UK for Halal, high-end dining, mixing vegetables from the market streets of France with Wagyu steaks from around the world.

Cona, based in Little Germany, is certainly not your average dining establishment.

A ‘destination restaurant’, the site has grown in reputation and prominence over the past 24 months, as more and more people fall in love with the ever-changing five-star menu.

beef1Food fans from across the country have sampled the dishes and helped propel the restaurant into a league of its own.

Armi Ahmed, director at Cona and self-confessed food fanatic, explained more about the award-winning meats which put the restaurant ‘horns’ and shoulders above all others.

“Our steaks are unparalleled in quality,” he said. “We’ve done direct deals with farms in Japan, Australia and America and only deal with best beef in the world – and it’s all halal.

“No other restaurant is serving up this grade of halal beef nationally. That’s what sets us apart and that’s what makes us a true destination restaurant.

“We even attract 30 tables a week from London which is completely unheard of.”

In addition to their primed steak menu, Cona is also the only halal restaurant in the UK which serves up Charcuterie.

Usually a pork dish, Cona instead deal directly with a supplier who uses the finest cuts of veal, beef and lamb, producing the meat in the same way.

Likewise, the must-try Sunday roast experience – which pairs Wagyu beef with duck fat roasties, proper Yorkshire puddings and the finest seasonal veg – is unlike any other ‘classic British dish’ on the market.

Away from the succulent cuts of meat, a mouth-watering range of fish dishes are available with luxury options including lobsters, turbot, caviar, wild sea bass, wild bream and king prawns.

For the vegetarians out there, the freshest produce is brought in weekly from the world famous Marché international de Rungis market in Paris.

“It’s predominantly steaks that we are famed for but we do offer options for vegetarians,” Armi added.

“In fact, whenever we get a vegetarian in, we get extremely excited as it gives our chefs a chance to get creative with the menu and our vast range of fresh vegetables.”

Cona are a destination restaurant, with customers regularly travelling from outside of the county just to sample the delights which the bespoke menu has on offer.
