A Bradford charity will be hosting free workouts this Bank Holiday weekend as they aim to get the city’s women on their feet and exercising.
The Womenzone charity’s very own gym instructor, Farzana Kauser, will be leading 30 minute workouts near the big screen in Bradford’s City Park on Saturday 3rd May between 10am and 2pm.
Womenzone will also be offering advice on healthy living and running games and competitions for children and adults in addition to the public workouts.
Farzana Kauser explained how the event was going to be inclusive for all and welcomed everybody to come on down this weekend.
She said: “Start your bank holiday weekend by attending one of our 30 minute free workouts at City Park.
“They will be fun sessions for all ages. We will also be able to answer any of your questions about keeping fit.”
‘Healthier Women, Healthier Communities’ is a project run by Womenzone and funded by CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) which aims to create sustainable community support, encouraging women to engage in community life, health and social activities and in self-care.
They hope to encourage people in Bradford to get healthy by supporting and informing local women on healthier ways to live.
This event follows on from Womenzone’s recently launched workout videos which demonstrate exercises to do at home. The videos are available to watch in four different languages and are being shown on the Bradford Big Screen.
Project Lead Nadia Naim said it was crucial to get the city active. “We want to encourage women in Bradford to find the time to look after themselves and their health,” she said.
“We believe this will have a knock on effect and we will see their family and friends also inspired to get healthy.”
If you would like to attend one of the Womenzone’s workouts at City Park this Saturday, the first session is set to begin at 10.30 am.
