The Bradford Hate Crime Alliance marked its 30th Anniversary with a special celebration held on Saturday, 18 October, at Midland Hotel.

The event brought together community leaders, local organisations, and civic dignitaries to reflect on three decades of work in promoting equality, understanding, and respect across the Bradford district.

Dr Nirmal Singh Sekhon MBE attended the celebration as an honoured guest. During the evening, Dr Sekhon was recognised for his significant contributions to community service, leadership, and social cohesion in Bradford and the surrounding areas.

Also in attendance was the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mohammed Shafiq, who joined in celebrating the Alliance’s achievements and reaffirmed the city’s commitment to combating hate and fostering unity.

In his address, Dr Sekhon praised the Bradford Hate Crime Alliance for its tireless efforts in encouraging unity and dialogue between diverse communities. He noted that the organisation’s work over the past three decades has made a lasting difference by fostering compassion, resilience, and mutual respect throughout the region.

The event featured speeches, awards, and heartfelt tributes to those who have contributed to the success of the initiative since its inception. Guests also enjoyed an evening of shared reflection, conversation, and celebration of Bradford’s diversity and community spirit.
