Indian street food arrives in the city

For almost 50 years, Bombay Stores has been the pinnacle of excellence in the fabric industry, supplying an array of materials to clients around the world.

Today, a new ‘string’ has been added to the business’s highly impressive bow as Bombay Bites restaurant promises to bring a new era of dining to Bradford’s food fans.

Adjoining to Bombay Building on Shearbridge Road, the eatery is a whole new concept for foodies in the city, mixing Indian street food with a touch of Western influence.

Sabra Kader, whose passion in the kitchen has only been to the benefit of her friends and family in the past, will finally share her kitchen secrets with a wider audience.

Her son and Bombay Bites director, Samir Kader, says the city’s food fans are in for a treat.

“For over 50 years my family have called Bradford home, building up one of the city’s largest businesses,” he said. “It was at our family home however, with our family meals, where we most enjoyed our time.

“Bombay Bites is the latest addition to the Bombay name and is headed up by my mum, Sabra Kader, and her host of family recipes.

“Everyone always says ‘my mum is the best cook’. For me, it is actually true.”

Opened since the start of November, the restaurant is already building up quite a reputation thanks to their finger-licking trademark chicken Buffalo wings and fully-loaded Don Burger proving to be huge hits with visitors.

Unlike other restaurants in the city, Bombay Bites boast a selection of irresistible vegetable starters, all cooked up from authentic family recipes. From Dahi Bhalla and Pani Puri to Samosa Chaat and Pau Bhajis, new tastes and flavours are served up every day and night from the Bombay Bites kitchen.

“We are doing things here that few other restaurants do in Bradford and what nobody does better than us,” Samir added.

“For those wanting to try a selection of our starters, we do chaat platters, whilst the Masala Dosa for main is unlike anything else in Bradford. That I can promise you.”

He added: “Once finished, diners can enjoy their favourite homemade dessert or hand-crafted ice cream, rounding off a memorable dining experience at Bombay Bites.”

With expansion plans in the pipeline for the New Year, the future certainly looks tasty with Bombay Bites.
