Soho Theatre is set to welcome a diverse line-up of performers and productions over the coming months, with a series of shows bringing together South Asian storytelling, poetry, music, comedy and live performance.
From an ambitious theatrical road trip inspired by Bollywood to an intimate residency from one of the world’s best-known contemporary poets, the programme offers plenty for audiences looking for something different.
Here are four shows to look out for at Soho Theatre.
Bringing together Bollywood, comedy, movement and storytelling, Ashes by Convoy takes audiences on a colourful journey between London and Delhi.
Written and performed by Genevieve Sabherwal and directed by Lee Griffiths, the production follows Radhika Elizabeth Kapoor, whose life in London is thrown into turmoil when an urgent phone call sends her back to Delhi.
What follows is a fast-paced journey involving family, identity, betrayal, gangsters, motorbikes and even gulab jamun bullets.
At its heart, the production explores what it means to navigate different cultural identities, balancing life in Britain with family, heritage and expectations.
Ashes by Convoy comes to Soho Theatre for two performances on 17 and 18 August, offering audiences a playful and energetic take on questions of belonging, family and identity. Get your tickets here.
For something altogether more outrageous, FUCCBOIS: Live in Concert brings boyband culture, comedy and camp theatricality together for a riotous night of live music.
Created by award-winning writer Bridie Connell and presented by Soft Tread and House of Oz, the production follows the world’s biggest boyband as they prepare to bring their glory days to an end.
Expect original music, choreography, comedy and plenty of boyband drama as the Fuccbois confront fame, relationships and the culture surrounding modern dating.
The show takes a deliberately exaggerated look at toxic masculinity and dating culture, using the familiar world of the boyband as its playground.
FUCCBOIS: Live in Concert heads to Soho Theatre from 2 to 5 September, giving audiences the chance to experience a theatrical pop concert that promises to be as funny as it is flamboyant. Get your tickets here.
Celebrating almost a decade of creativity and community, Makrooh returns to Soho Theatre with To Be Continued….
Taking place on 12 September, the event brings together artists, collaborators and audiences for an evening centred on performance, conversation, community and what comes next.
Rather than simply looking back at Makrooh’s journey, To Be Continued… is an opportunity to celebrate the people and ideas that have helped shape its work while looking towards the future.
With the line-up of headliners still to be announced, the event promises an element of surprise alongside an evening of live creativity and connection.

One of the biggest names in contemporary poetry, Rupi Kaur will take over Soho Theatre for an intimate residency this October.
Known internationally for her bestselling poetry collections milk and honey, the sun and her flowers and home body, Kaur has built a global audience through her distinctive writing on love, loss, healing, femininity and identity.
Rupi Kaur: Uncut – A Residency offers audiences the chance to see a different side of her work, with the poet developing new material live in the room.
The residency is deliberately stripped back, with no elaborate production or polish. Instead, audiences are invited into the creative process as Kaur experiments with new work and shapes material in front of them.
Running from 5 to 17 October, the residency provides a rare opportunity to experience Kaur’s poetry in an intimate theatre setting, before the work reaches its finished form. Get your tickets here.
