A Spouse Visa, also known as a UK Marriage Visa or a Partner Visa, is a type of settlement visa that provides the romantic partner of a (settled) UK resident with the opportunity to come to the UK to be with their loved one. The initial visa is usually for two and a half years, which can then be extended by another two and a half years.

To qualify for a Spouse Visa, both parties must be over the age of 18, and the UK-based partner must be a British citizen, have settlement or proof of permanent residence, or have refugee status or humanitarian protection within the UK,

For the relationship to be accepted, you must be able to show a valid marriage or civil partnership, an engagement to marry or form a civil partnership, or cohabitation as unmarried partners for at least two years.

You will also need to meet the following criteria:

· The UK sponsor will need a minimum household income of £18,600 or savings totalling at least £62,500.
· Intend to live together permanently in a genuine and subsisting relationship.
