Bentley has revealed its first-ever diesel car – the Bentayga diesel.

Powered by a triple-charged 4.0-litre V8 diesel engine, the Bentayga produces 429bhp and 900Nm torque. This allows it to reach 62mph in just 4.8 seconds and means it can hit a top speed of 168mph.

This means that the Bentayga takes the title of the world’s fastest diesel-powered SUV.

However, despite the performance on offer, the Bentayga Diesel emits the lowest amount of CO2 of any Bentley, at 210g/km. It also has an impressive range of 612 miles.

Inside, the Bentayga Diesel is still a true Bentley. Hand-selected veneers are used throughout the cabin, with each produced by Bentley’s craftsmen.

The Bentayga’s interior still bears classic Bentley hallmarks. Owners have the option of having the Mulliner hamper set, which comes with a refrigerator, china cutlery and crystal glass, as well as a storage compartment for dry items. Sections of the hamper can then be removed and used as seats. This, of course, comes at an additional cost.

A bespoke Mulliner Tourbillion by Breitling clock can also be specified. This is crafted from solid gold, and is wound by a mechanism fitted inside the car. This, however, commands a £150,000 premium.
Deliveries in Europe for the Bentayaga Diesel are due to commence the early part of next year.
