Gigi Hadid has reportedly turned down Zayn Malik’s marriage proposal because he was moving ‘too fast’.
The beautiful 21-year-old Victoria’s Secret Angel said she ‘didn't feel ready’ when Zayn, 23, recently asked Gigi to marry him, according to new reports.
Only one year has passed since the former One Direction hunk called off his two-year engagement to Little Mix singer, Perrie Edwards, 23.
A source close to the pair reportedly told Life & Style magazine: “She’s only 21 and doesn’t feel ready to tie the knot, so she turned him down.”
Gigi's father is Mohammed Hadid, Yolanda's first husband with whom she has children Bella and Anwar, but the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's second marriage to David Foster similarly ended in 2011.
At the close of 2016, Gigi and Zayn - who have been together since last November - seem to be stronger than ever, but they split up for a short while when Zayn was going through an intense anxiety attack.
In October this year, it was finally confirmed that the musician had unexpectedly called off his engagement to long-term partner Perrie over the phone, last August.
In a passage from the 2016 Little Mix autobiography Our World, she writes: ‘It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that.’
She confessed that the sudden separation had left her homeless and panicking about how she could look after her pet cats and dogs, who could not move to a rented apartment.
It was just weeks before the soon-to-be-weds were set to move into their £3million dream home.
Perrie explained: ‘After I split with my partner, out of the blue, I had nowhere to go, which was incredibly stressful. For a while I had no idea what to do.’
She continued: ‘At the time we were promoting Black Magic, and while I was in America, things really hit me and I panicked. I realised I was homeless. I was crying every day, dreading coming back.’
