Girl groped in Greggs
Detectives investigating a sexual assault on an eight-year-old girl in a Leeds bakers shop have made an arrest after an appeal to find the man went viral online.
The victim was in the seating area of Greggs, in The Headrow, in Leeds city centre, when the incident occurred shortly after 3.30pm on Friday, February 12th.
She had been sat with her younger brother while her mother paid for items at the counter.
Detective Inspector Steve Greenbank, of Leeds District Safeguarding Unit, said: “This was clearly a distressing incident for the young girl involved.
Chief Inspector Mark Griffin, from the Leeds district policing team said, “A 34-year-old man from the Bradford area has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who shared our appeal for information, and for the public’s support in this matter.”
