This summer will see the Rochdale Feel Good Festival bring its bright and breezy – and not to mention totally tasty – vibe to Manchester.

Indian curry chef Nisha Katona will be sharing her quick and easy dishes with foodies at the flavoursome festival, which runs from 19th to 20th August.

On the first day, the popular food writer, curry evangelist, teacher and owner of Manchester restaurant Mowgli will be cooking up her terrific tiffin treats on the food stage.

Nisha gave up her 20 year career as a barrister to focus on her passion for Indian food, opening popular restaurants in Liverpool and Manchester.

Famous for creating simple dishes that are a million miles away from the curry stereotype; her recipes are healthy, often vegan and always bursting with fresh flavour.

Nisha’s writing features across various national media and her YouTube Channel has an international following.

Having spent her life between India and England she is passionate about curry making and the evolution of Indian cooking.

Her recipes promise authentic Indian dishes in 20 minutes using only a trio of three delicious spices.

Nisha’s first book – ‘Pimp my Rice’ was published in 2015 and she films for the Food Network as well as tweeting daily recipes to her 24,000 followers on Twitter.

New on the northern culinary scene for 2016, the festival’s food stage will be located inside a large marquee on The Esplanade by the town hall.

Nisha will be joined at the festival by the previously announced chef – and ‘Eat Well for Less’ television presenter – Chris Bavin; BBC Fusion Chef Aazam Ahmad and local star food-lover, Andrew Nutter.

More chefs will be announced soon, together with music acts on a line up which already includes The Fratellis, Alex Cornish, Boomin, The Twisted Dolls and The Bright Black.
