shopMore than 1.1 billion inkjet cartridges are used around the world every year.

Unbelievably, if you stacked the cartridges end-to-end, they would be 129 times longer than the Great Wall of China.

Shockingly, it can take up to 1000 years for the plastic contained within the casing of a printer to decompose.

Muhammad Usman, from Cartridge Point on Manningham Lane in Bradford, has been in the business for over four years and has just opened his second store in Headingley on North Lane.

He is considered an ‘ink specialist’ and his shop even stocks ink for printers that are over 20 years-old.

Muhammad realises how huge an impact our cartridge cast-offs are having on the environment.

muhammadHe said: “Customers can refill their ink cartridges right here in the shop. The process is eco-friendly and very easy to do. Some customers have re-used their cartridge over 50 times.

“If we are to have a world that’s free from pollution, then refilling our ink cartridges is the only viable option. It’s the way forward.”

He continued: “Our prices are the cheapest in Yorkshire, and that’s a guarantee.”

Muhammad’s brother was working at Staples when he told him that there was a gap in the market for customers who wanted a cheaper alternative to branded cartridges.

His ‘inkling’ turned out to be correct and now the business is booming, with customers ranging from students, schools, businesses, solicitors and anyone who is looking for high quality printing, photocopying, scanning, binding and laminating.

Muhammad said: “People still need hardcopies and ink, even though we live in a digital age now.

“There is no substitute for the feel of the real product in your hands.

“Cartridge Point is so niche that we have ink cartridges for every single machine imaginable. Staples and PC World send customers to my shop because they don’t hold the amount of stock that I do.”

Make sure Cartridge Point is your first point of call. Save money and save the environment. For a printer to feel proud of.
