CRAFTY: (L-R) The terrific trio – Platinum selling J Holiday, music producer Shayal and American rapper Tyler serve up a vivid concoction of creative music and lyrics

UK-based music producer Shayal has just served up a uniquely produced Rap/RnB crossover single and video titled ‘Way Up’.

The British-born Indian talent, who began playing the keyboard when he was just five-years-old, is a self-confessed Bollywood fan, with a unique approach to creating music.

His previous work includes his first official release ‘Baby Dil Deewana’ featuring platinum selling RnB artist Ginuwine and the official club remix of Jay Sean’s ‘Down’ Feat Lil Wayne.

Shayal has also previously been nominated for Best Urban Act at the UK Asian Music Awards (alongside Jay Sean and MIA).

“I always loved RnB and other kinds of music so I wanted to focus on my love for music with a slight touch of my culture too,” says Shayal.

He adds: “My influences are Ryan Leslie, AR Rahman, Nik Nak… and the list goes on and on… I love to learn and create from different people on a day-to-day basis.”

For ‘Way Up’, he’s enlisted skills of the Grammy nominated platinum selling artist J Holiday who adds his silky RnB vocal style to the hook whilst rising American rapper Tyler adds some harder hitting state-side bars to the verses.

The song’s slick production has all the ingredients to get the club jumping whilst Shayal’s Indian background and cultural diversity shines through to give a different edge to his production.

Following the release of ‘Way Up’, Shayal has tracks with Omarion (MMG, the label owned by Rick Ross) and Mavado (We the Best Music owned by DJ Khaled) in the bag ready for release in 2016. Also watch out for a remix from ‘Arjun’ in the works plus many more exciting collabs next year!

“Working with J Holiday was a great experience. We worked so well in the studio both vibing off the same page. He is an amazing artist and crazy talented, we have become friends and we have more tracks lined up together.”

“My close friend rapper Tyler was just perfect for this record as I had that vision and it came to light. Way Up is just a start of my new journey and I have lot of collaborations planned in the near future”

Talking about doing some exclusive DJ-ing, he reveals that he has shows planned in Europe, Dubai, USA, Africa and more. Shayal is also planning a tour with J Holiday early this year. His diary will soon be up on his website www.shayalofficial.com
