Jurassic World

Irrfan Khan beats all previous box-office Khan records

jurassic_world_movie_poster (315x450)There has always been a rage of the three Khans in Bollywood – Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir. From romancing heroines to doing action roles to breaking records with the 200 crore club, they have done it all.

However, the entrant in the Khan club has left the audience flabbergasted. Irrfan Khan’s Jurassic World has broken all records by giving a humongous opening of $511 million worldwide. This is the biggest opening ever to date.

He plays the role of Simon Masrani, the owner of the dinosaur park in Jurassic World and it’s being speculated that Irrfan has had the maximum screen time any Bollywood actor has ever had in a mainstream Hollywood film.

“The success of ‘Jurrasic World’ has come out as a blessing for all of us. I am overjoyed with the response that the film has received in India and abroad. I thank everyone who has contributed to this film and made it such a large success,” Irrfan said in a statement.

The story unfolds 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park in a fully functional resort on Isla Nublar that sees more than 20,000 visitors a day. The new park includes a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park type setting and of course unprecedented close access to real, living dinosaurs.

Jurassic World, which also stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, is set at the same location as Jurassic Park. It is a direct sequel to the runaway 1993 hit.

Irrfan’s impeccable performance in the film has been appreciated worldwide and now he’s prepping up for Dan Brown’s ‘Inferno in Budapest’.
