Enterprise team up with InTouch

The founder of a West Yorkshire charity was presented with a donation from his previous employers last week, as the InTouch Foundation continues on its ‘road’ to success.

Osman Gondal worked at Enterprise Rent-A-Car for four years in 2003 after graduating and joining the management training programme.

Now, as the Founder and Board member of the InTouch Foundation, he spearheads the local charity which feeds the homeless across Bradford, Leeds and Keighley, whilst also operating a food bank and overseas projects.

The community champion returned to the Seacroft branch of Enterprise on Thursday 19th March to accept a donation of £1,000 from the company’s philanthropic arm, the Enterprise Holdings Foundation.

After meeting with previous colleagues and the cheque presentation, Osman explained how his former employers took the proactive step of getting in touch with him in regard to supporting the charity.

“The initial link with Enterprise was made when Ibrar (Ahmed), the branch manager, came down to one of our mobile soup kitchens in Keighley,” he explained.

“After speaking about the work we do, he was keen to take the message back to his branch and their Holdings Foundation which helps non-profit organisations such as InTouch.

“For me to go back to where my working life all began was a great experience and it was really nice to see their corporate social responsibility at the forefront of our local communities.”

He added: “This donation will help a lot of people across West Yorkshire and is just the first example of our organisations working together and I look forward to welcoming the Enterprise teams on site .”

Cameron Bentley, Senior Financial Controller at Enterprise Rent-A-Car, worked with Osman during his time at the Seacroft branch.

Having seen the work InTouch are doing in the local area, he said he was ‘determined’ to get involved with the projects.

“It was fantastic to welcome Osman back to Enterprise and discuss the incredible work the InTouch Foundation is doing across Bradford, Keighley and Leeds,” he said.

“Here at Enterprise Rent-a-Car we aim to strengthen our communities one neighbourhood at a time. By teaming up with InTouch we are determined to make that goal a reality.”

Brian Waligora, General Manager of Enterprise in the north of England, added: “Following the donation, we are now looking to get our staff involved with the soup kitchens and hopefully help distribute food one evening in the local areas.

“Our link with InTouch will only get stronger over time and we now look forward to working together on future projects.”
