Rumours are all the norm in celebrity life. For Vidya Balan, however, things are becoming quite difficult as she’s been under the spotlight since the beginning of this year.
In March rumours began circulating that Vidya is pregnant and that that was the reason she’d opted out of the two film projects that she was a part of. The first was a film with ‘Kahaani’ director Sujoy Ghosh, opposite Irrfan Khan. The film was supposed to go to the floors this May, but according to one of Vidya’s friends, “Vidya has told him that he can go ahead with another actress, but Sujoy says that he will wait for her.”
The other film was Mohit Suri directed ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’ from the Bhatt camp that features Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao. However producer Mahesh Bhatt denied that Vidya has left the project: “She asked for the details before she left for the US. Why would she make enquiries if she didn’t want to do my film?”
Vidya’s friend also said that pregnancy has nothing to do with Vidya leaving the project rather it was the fatigue of doing back-to-back film shoots.
In an interview to a daily newspaper in April, Vidya finally spoke about the issue: “I’m fed up of these rumours. These days people look at my stomach when they talk to me… Inshallah, I will have a baby—but not so soon.
I’m not mentally ready for motherhood yet. It’s a daunting task to be responsible for another human being.”
Unfortunately in addition to the pregnancy rumours the actress now has to deal with whispers about a possible divorce.
Vidya has been keeping a low profile these days and apparently the reason is trouble in her marriage with producer Siddharth Roy Kapoor who’s already married and divorced twice before tying the knot with Vidya in 2012.
Industry sources are saying that Siddharth has gotten close with a newcomer actress. The two of them were spotted together a couple of times and Siddharth has been promoting her heavily these days.
None of the reports can be confirmed at the moment and only time can tell what is happening in Vidya’s life.
