British Asian Trust Ambassador, Ikram Butt, has been invited to attend a dinner event in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales.
The event is taking place on Wednesday 5th February 2014 at the Victoria and Albert Museum with chart topping music sensation, Naughty Boy, performing alongside his guest performer and Brit Award winning artist, Emeli Sande.
Ikram Butt commented: “I am delighted to be invited to the event. The British Asian Trust has very similar aims and values as BARA (British Asian Rugby Association) and I was very pleased to be invited to become one of their Ambassadors.’
The British Asian Trust was founded in 2007, at the suggestion of HRH The Prince of Wales, by a group of British Asian business leaders.
The Trust provides funding to support high impact charities within the areas of education, health and livelihoods in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The dinner will raise funds for a number of projects that the Trust supports in these countries. Since it was established, the Trust has touched the lives of one million disadvantaged people, and over the next five years it aims to reach a further two million.
The event will also celebrate the success of HRH The Prince of Wales’ recent visit to South Asia. During his time in India, The Prince visited a number of projects his Trust supports, allowing him to visualise for himself how supporter funds are used to transform the lives of the Trust’s beneficiaries.
