A local sixth form student, who sent a Christmas present to music sensation Raxstar, received a special present back in the form of an Instagram and a place on the rapper’s studio wall.
Annam Kiani, of Tong Sixth Form, sent the painting she had completed as part of her AS Art to the rapper.
The canvas included an illustration of the musician in front of lyrics from a repertoire of his songs and was warmly received by Raxstar and his fans.
Posting the picture on social media site, Instagram, he wrote alongside: “This amazing piece of art is about 2ft by 2ft and was created by the lovely Annam Kiani.
“It finally came into my possession yesterday. I admire the creativity, the effort and sheer talent required to create something as extraordinary as this.
“A picture is worth a thousand words and this one reminds me that the words we choose are extremely powerful. I will hang this in my studio as a constant reminder of that. Thank you Annam x”
The art enthusiast was thrilled to see the star’s response upon receiving the piece and said she was ‘over the moon’ when she saw her work appear on Instagram.
Explaining how the project came about, Annam said: “I love art. For my A Level art project I decided to explore the idea of music with meaning.
“I wanted to focus on the lyrical side of music and how important lyrics are. I have been a really big fan of Raxstar for a couple of years and his lyrics actually mean something and really inspire me, this is why I decided to paint him and include his lyrics on the canvas.
“The canvas turned out to be even better than my own expectations so I decided to send it to him as a gift. I was over the moon when I saw that he had posted a picture of the canvas and commented on Instagram.
“I am currently applying to various universities to study art. Tong High School has really helped me to find my passion and I would like to be an art teacher or an art therapist, using art to inspire others.”
