Are you seeing eye2eye?
If not you’re missing out on community eye care

Ask the majority of people which aspect of their health is important to them and eye care will be low down on most lists. But Eye2Eye Opticians in Leeds are aiming to highlight the importance of regular eye tests, with customer satisfaction and clinical care at the forefront.

Anwar Aziz, Eye2Eye optometrist, explained how he first entered the profession: “I have been in optics for 12 years; I enjoy helping people and making a difference. I have worked my way up. Then I opened up my own practice, I had the opportunity to open a franchise with the large multiples but my practice is more community care based.”

His background gave him the passion to become a leading eye care specialist but he wanted his business to be customer driven: “We are more of a personal, customer/patient-led organisation. You can go to any high-street opticians and you’re just a number. Here we like to make people feel at ease and talk to them. People are welcome to come in and just have a chat or ask for advice; it is that personal touch that sets us apart,” he said.

“I also offer a multi-lingual service which breaks down barriers. People come in and I can test in Urdu, Arabic, Bengali and English.”

Anwar also stressed the importance of regular eye examinations: “People put eye care a long way behind seeing the GP or dentist but there have been studies of late which have shown that the eyes are the ‘window to the body’, we look in there and we can pick up diabetes or hypertension and many other health-related issues” he said.
