t was a night of music, dancing and spectacle as newly-weds Rupali and Manish Goel celebrated their marriage at Savile’s Hall and Royal Armouries in Leeds.
After making their grand entrance in a vintage car through the hall they enjoyed a sumptuous banquet together with their 350 guests before dancing through the night.
Rupali, 32, an associate solicitor at Switalskis in Wakefield, and Manish, 32, an investment banker, particularly praised the service provided by the staff from Royal Armouries international.
“They were excellent. They were able to make the hall fit around our requirements and put together a package that included all our catering and entertainment. For instance, they were able to put up plasma screens that showed our guests dancing as part of the audio-visual spectacle,” they said.
Rupali’s father, ophalmologist Dr Rajeshwari Gupta, said that having hotels and car parking so conveniently near was a great advantage.
“We had guests coming from all over the UK and flying in from India and the US so it was very useful to be able to put them up so close and it also meant that the young people could stay there so they didn’t have to drive,” he said.
First opened in 2007, Saviles Hall is part of the new £350 million Clarence Dock complex home to the Royal Armouries Museum in the centre of Leeds and provides a facility that the city badly lacked – a large venue that can accommodate up to 1500 people at a luxury banquet.
There are over 800 hotel beds within a 5 minute walk (including 130 beds in the Express By Holiday Inn next door), and a secure 24 hour manned multi-storey car park for 1,650 cars next door.
