Body Power welcomes Waheed Aesthetic
Last year he was just another face in the crowd but now, just 12 months later, Waheed Aesthetic will be one of the most honoured fitness models at this year’s Body Power Expo.
Waheed has been training tirelessly for the past 12 months to get into the shape of his life and appear at Europe’s largest consumer fitness exhibition this weekend in Birmingham.
The fitness enthusiast will appear on stage as one of the selected fitness models on Saturday, alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.
As an attendee at last year’s show, the personal trainer says he was determined to experience what it was like to be on stage, and not just an onlooker.
“It has been a lot of hard work to get where I am now but I just cannot wait until Saturday,” he said.
“I have always taken care of my physique and tried to look as good as I can but these last few months I have really pushed myself; I just wanted to see how good I really could be.
“I’m down to just eight per cent fat now, I’m training three times a day, and cut out the carbs to get to where I am.”
Waheed, who will also be launching his own line of clothing in the near future, qualified from Birmingham University in 2012 with a degree in Sport Science.
From that point he has worked as a personal trainer and recently took up fitness modelling.
As a Pakistani Muslim bodybuilder, he says he has gathered quite a following and considers it an ‘honour’ to be looked up to by so many people in the South Asian community.
“In this line of work there aren’t that many Asians so I’ve already got quite a few fans which I am extremely grateful for,” he said.
“I enjoy representing the Asian community on the big stage and am always pushing myself to be better than before.”
He added: “In regards to an idol, I don’t really have one. I truly believe that we can always be that little bit better so the motivation I have is simply from my ambition to be the best that I can be.”
Waheed Aesthetic will be performing on stage on Saturday 17th May at the NEC Arena Birmingham on the second day of the Body Power Expo.

Waheed’s Top Five Tips to becoming the ‘Perfect You’
1. Mix it up - Your body loves a challenge, so increase your fitness by mixing things up. Try a new exercise class, go for a run instead of always walking, start your workout on the bike instead of the treadmill. Mixing things up like this will keep your body guessing - and therefore adapting and losing weight - and prevent exercise boredom.
2. Set realistic goals - We all want to drop 3kg in a week, or add an inch of muscle to our biceps but it is simply an unrealistic goal. Be realistic about what you want to achieve. You'll have a much better chance of reaching these goals and feeling proud of yourself when you do.
3. Get more sleep - When you're working on your health and fitness and pushing yourself through tough workouts, a long and restful sleep is more important than ever. Research has also shown that getting eight hours of good quality sleep reduces your appetite throughout the day.
