Two motor shows, two new AMG high-performance vehicles.
Mercedes-AMG is presenting the S 65 AMG and the SLS AMG GT Final Edition simultaneously at the Los Angeles Auto Show and the Tokyo Motor Show (both from 20th November to 1st December 2013).
Mercedes say that the two new AMG high-performance vehicles represent the spectacular next level for their exciting model array.
The S 65 AMG stands for maximum exclusiveness and is armed with an unparalleled and dynamic beast of a V12 engine. Twelve cylinders, bi-turbo charging, an output of 630 hp and torque of 1000 Nm – the new Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG sets new standards in the motoring world.
This means that the S 65 AMG would outperform all other models in its segment, with an acceleration speed from 0 to 62 mph coming in at 4.3 seconds, and a top speed of 155 mph (electronically limited).
With fuel consumption of 23.7 mpg (NEDC combined), the new S 65 AMG is the world's most fuel-efficient V12 highperformance saloon in terms of power and torque. The rangetopping 12-cylinder model already meets the requirements of the EU6 emissions standard, which is not due to come into force until 2015.
Like the S 63 AMG, the S 65 AMG features a lithium-ion battery, resulting in a weight saving of over 20 kilograms.
It comes with ceramic brakes, head-up display, aerodynamic elements and is simply loaded with luxury and style, the S 65 AMG comes with new technology – ‘Magic Body Control’. This clever system involves a stereo camera, which scans the road surface ahead for surface undulations, and adjusts the suspension in advance.
With the SLS AMG GT Final Edition, Mercedes are showing an ultimate, particularly attractive variant of our super sports car, which marks an impressive era to an end.
The model, built in a limited run of just 350 units, represents the last opportunity for customers to order a SLS AMG – while at the same time reflecting the unrivalled success story and unique scope offered by the first complete vehicle to be built by Mercedes-AMG.
The super sports car, with its 591 hp AMG 6.3-litre V8 frontmid engine, offers an exciting combination of truly exceptional design and equipment features. Ever since it was presented in 2009 the SLS AMG has been an icon of the Mercedes-Benz brand and is highly sought-after around the world.
Thanks to the wide variety of models – from a gullwing model to the roadster, GT, the Black Series, an electric drive and its success in motorsport as the GT3 variant – the SLS AMG has become ever more attractive and is now one of the legendary dream cars from the brand with the star.
